The Lavender Angel

In the backdrop of the Civil War, the story begins in South Haven, Michigan, and concludes in 1875 in Chicago.  Will, a poor farm hand's son, and Ellie, a wealthy businessman's daughter, fall in love. Everyone around them dismisses their love, but Ellie and Will are determined.  Will writes a poem The Lavender Angel for Ellie in hopes to publish it and impress her family.  Before he can achieve success, the lovers are driven apart by social class, the times they live in, and greed.  Ellie and Will never forgot the magical night they shared on the beach and clung to the notion that one day there would be a time for them.  They live seperate lives and reluctantly accept their fate - until one chanch encounter with a journal brings them together again.  However, fate would deal them one last challenge and they must fight for the one they love or lose everything - again.
