About Me

We all have a story inside of us.

Telling those stories is what I love to do.

My writing journey began when I told the story of my mother.

I began writing as a child and always loved it. But then life got in the way, and I raised a family and worked. My first book, The Gift of Gisela, is the story of my mother and it took over twenty years to write. It was a lifelong dream to see it published. I didn’t stop there and immediately dove into my second novel, Jillian Boone, which was actually the first book I wrote. It got shelved for a bit so I could work on my mother’s story. After mom’s book was published, I dusted off the Jillian Boone manuscript, updated it, and edited it. I published that book the same year.

I grew up in Michigan in a small town with one red light at the main four corners. When I was young, all I wanted was to get out of that small town and live life to the fullest. As an adult who lived in Europe for two years after I was married, all I wanted was to move back to that small town and find my roots again. It’s interesting to learn how much we absorb our hometowns into our psyche and how much it forms the people we become.

I now live in another small town with my husband Richard and our dog Maggie. We are both retired and plan to enjoy the fruits of our labor. We are avid hockey fans and own season tickets for our local Kalamazoo Wings, something we look forward to each year. We also own a 1983 Sea Ray 36 ft. cabin cruiser that we dock near Lake Michigan and spend our weekends on during the summer months. We both love to travel and plan to do more of it in the months to come.

I am proud to say that as of this writing, I have published three novels: The Gift of Gisela, Jillian Boone, and Amalie and the Web of Deceit. I am proud of each one. Our manuscripts are like children to a writer: each one is individual and has its own personality. I write in different genres because I love to read different genres. My fourth novel, Clown of Hearts, will be published in fall of 2022, and like its siblings, will be a completely different story.

Thank you for taking this journey with me. I love you all.
